Fact: Because of the dangers associated with rambunctious pets during travel, a growing number of states and counties are implementing and enforcing laws that require all pets to be restrained while traveling on public roads.

 The Back Seat Driver® works with any harness or collar and quickly attaches in seconds through or around any secure object on the floor or seat of the vehicle (e.g., seat belt, seat belt hardware, cargo rings, etc) and attaches to any harness or collar. Fully adjustable to 36 inches to safely control the pet's range of freedom during travel to minimize dangerous distractions to drivers and passengers during travel.

All too often, pet owners do not use dog restraints in the car (especially on short trips) because of the complexity, size, and time-consuming installation of most restraints on the market that typically require confusing and cumbersome attachment to seatbelts. The Back Seat Driver® attaches and detaches in seconds and can be left in place when not in use (or easily stores in any glove box or under any seat). This product works with any collar or harness and can also be used as a leash.

Over a short period of time, the use of the product trains many pets to remain in one location even when the restraint is not in use!

Note: For maximum safety, especially on long trips or highway trips, we recommend the use of a suitable harness with this restraint.
1.) Pass the free end of the strap through or around any secure object on the floor or seat of the automobile (e.g., seat belt, seat belt hardware, cargo rings, etc. - DO NOT ATTACH TO OVERHEAD OBJECTS).
2.) Adjust the Load Lock® mechanism for length.
3.) Connect the restraint to the pet's harness or collar.

The restraint can be left in place when not in use for quick operation.  This device is intended to aid in the prevention of accidents.  It is not designed to protect a pet from injuries resulting in accidents.  Never leave pets unattended when using this or any other restraint system.
