For maximum hull protection, the Load Lock® Canoe & Kayak Stabilized Hull Cradle System quickly adjusts to fit any kayak or canoe and is designed specifically for use with the Handy-Hooker™ Canoe and Kayak Hoist & Storage Kit.

If your kayak or canoe does not have lanyards or lifting rings or to prevent hull damage during extended storage periods, we offer a Canoe & Kayak Stabilized Hull Cradle (sold separately).  Our Canoe & Kayak Hull Cradle distributes the support around the hull and is particularly well suited for the storage of  plastic or wood hulled canoes and kayaks, which are most susceptible to warpage over time when hanging from the ends.

The Load Lock® Canoe & Kayak Stabilized Hull Cradle System includes:
7' Load Lock® Cradle Straps with Stainless Steel Lifting / Stabilizing Rings (Qty. 2)
12' Load Lock® Stabilizer Strap with Stainless Steel Snap Hooks (Qty. 1)

The 7' Load Lock® Cradle Straps are quickly and fully adjustable to secure each end of a kayak and are joined by the lifting rings by a 12' Load Lock® Stabilizer Strap (adjustable from 3 to 12 feet) to prevent accidental slippage or release of a secure kayak or canoe.  Constructed of nylon strap, high strength Load Lock® FASTeners and stainless steel hardware, our Stabilized Canoe & Kayak Cradles are rust-proof and are built to last a lifetime.

The Load Lock® Canoe & Kayak Stabilized Hull Cradle System is simple to use, 100% secure, and is fully adjustable to fit all canoes & kayaks.
1.) Slip the 7' Load Lock® Cradle Straps over both ends of a canoe or kayak and adjust using the slip-proof Load Lock® mechanism.

2.) Connect Canoe and Kayak Hoist to Lifting /  Stabilizing Rings on 7' Load Lock® Cradle Straps, position for vertical alignment of hoist straps, and further adjust cradle straps as necessary.

3.) Connect 12' Load Lock® Stabilizer Strap at both ends to the Lifting / Stabilizing Rings on the 7' Load Lock® Cradle Straps.

4.) Adjust the 12' Load Lock® Stabilizer Strap to the desired length to ensure that the 7' Load Lock® Cradle Straps cannot slip off the ends of the canoe or kayak.  For easiest lifting and maximum hull protection, the 12' Stabilizer Strap should be adjusted to provide vertical alignment with the hoist straps and should be at least 2' to 3' from each end of a canoe or kayak, opposite the thwarts if possible.

If you do not have lanyards or rings on the bow or stern of rigid bodied hulls (such as aluminum or composite hulls) and you do not choose to use our stabilized Hull Cradle System (sold separately),we also offer two-packs of our Handy-Hooker™  Straps that can be used for quickly securing around thwarts or bars at the bow and stern ends of a canoe.  The hooks are then secured directly to the hooks on kayak and canoe hoists.  These versatile straps feature our 'lasso' design and can also be used for securing dry bags, packs, and other gear on paddling trips.  Click here for more information about other uses for these optional straps.
