Patented moving release mechanism is positioned next to the canoe or kayak which provides controlled lifting, lowering, and stacking of canoes and kayaks for safe and easy single person operation.

Please note: For maximum protection against accidental release, to ensure the simplest installation, and to provide the most controllable lowering of canoes and kayaks, the release mechanism elevates with the secured canoe or kayak. When using this product from tall ceilings, a ladder or pole may be necessary to reach the release button for lowering.

Please note: When fully elevated, our canoe and kayak storage system has a minimum length of approximately 13" measured from each of the hooks. Therefore when installed in a perfectly vertical position, the canoe or kayak will hang approximately 13" below the ceiling. Inside the joist installations on unfinished ceilings and non-vertical hoist strap installations provide a closer position to the ceiling.

Simply thread two lag eye bolts into any suitable stud, joist, rafter, or dock!

To use, simply connect the strap assemblies to the installed lag eye bolts, connect the other end to the lanyards or rings on a kayak or canoe or to our Canoe & Kayak Hull Cradle (sold separately), then raise or lower the kayak or canoe using the mechanical advantage of the strap assemblies. This integrated leverage system acts like a block and tackle lifting device making it simple for anyone to single-handedly lift even the heaviest kayaks and canoes.

The simple, safe, and secure storage of kayaks and canoes has been a difficult task... until now. Our Canoe and Kayak Hanger Kit includes everything required to store one kayak or canoe in the basement, garage, shed, or boathouse. The separate purchase of our Hull Cradle system is recommended for use with our Canoe & Kayak Hoist for the storage of most kayaks and some canoes that may be prone to warpage if hung from their ends without additional support. Additional kits can be purchased to provide stacking storage of multiple kayaks and canoes (even from the same installation) to save valuable floor space. Each Canoe and Kayak Storage Kit includes two rust-proof stainless steel lag eye bolts (for simple installation into studs, beams, joists, etc.) and two nylon strap assemblies with stainless steel snap hooks on each end. The straps are fully adjustable from 13 inches to 9 feet (custom lengths also available below) which provides ample room to stack multiple kayaks or canoes from a single set of installed lag eye bolts in tight locations. It also adds the versatility of being able to hang canoes and kayaks of different lengths from the same installation without installing additional lag eye bolts. The Handy-Hooker™ Kayak and Canoe Hoist can hold weights of up to 300 pounds (which will vary by installation of lag eye bolts), making it the strongest product of its kind. Unlike rope, cable, and cleat products, our canoe and kayak hoist cannot be accidentally released and the straps do not easily tangle, wear, or break like competing canoe or kayak rope lift products. The release button elevates with the canoe or kayak, keeping it out of the reach of children while providing controllable height adjustment for adults. This also provides the ability to guide or walk kayaks or canoes down to the ground slowly and easily, while providing single person operation from each end of the canoe or kayak at any angle from the installation.

Unlike competing products, our canoe and kayak hoist and storage system installs directly into rafters or joists of almost any size and does not require the additional installation of 2" x 4" lumber for mounting. No cleat or pulley installation is required, making it the easiest lifting system for kayaks and canoes available... NOTE ABOUT CUSTOM LENGTHS:
Our standard hoist length is optimized for ceilings up to 10 feet tall. When ordering custom lengths for tall ceilings, please note that the connection point on the canoe or kayak is typically around 1' above ground. If using this product with our Hull Cradle System, the cradle straps add several more inches of stretch to the system during normal use. Though the longer hoist length will work with lower ceiling heights, the amount of excess strap when in the fully up position can be excessive as 4' of strap is used for every additional foot of travel becuase of the mechanical advantage. Also, when lowering a kayak or canoe withthis product a broom stick or pole (or ladder) is necessary to engage the release button for lowering the canoe or kayak until the release button is within normal overhand reach. Though still a simple task for most people, this is more difficult from higher ceilings.
